DR Failback Procedure

Status

This document is planned for completion after the June 2026 DR test. The failback procedure will be developed based on lessons learned during the test.

Rationale

Failback procedures require understanding the operational characteristics of the DR environment under actual load. The June 2026 DR test will provide critical insights into:

• Data synchronization requirements for returning to Azure
• Service cutover coordination and timing
• DNS and routing changeover procedures
• Verification steps to confirm Azure environment restoration

These insights will inform a comprehensive, tested failback procedure that accounts for real-world operational constraints.

Timeline

• June 2026: Execute DR test and document findings
• July 2026: Draft failback procedure based on test results
• October 2026: Test failback procedure during second DR test
• November 2026: Finalize procedure with lessons learned from both tests
